Tickets to Studio Tenn's fourth and final production of the 2011-2012 season, The Sound of Music, are now available for patrons who also purchase tickets to their next production, The Miracle Worker, which opens February 23.

This limited-time package offer is available for purchase online at www.FranklinTheatre.com/Studio-Tenn or by calling the Box Office at (615) 538-2076.

Studio Tenn—resident professional theatre company of the Franklin Theatre—announced the addition of The Sound of Music to their season at the sold-out opening night performance of A Christmas Carol. Company managing director Jake Speck said the announcement—met with resounding cheers—was due to the unprecedented success and popularity of both A Christmas Carol and the company's Franklin Theatre debut production, Guys And Dolls.

“We are so glad to see such a healthy demand for professional live theater here in Franklin and Williamson County, and we want to keep feeding that demand,” Speck said. “We are especially excited about The Sound of Music because it hasn't been done in this [Nashville area] market in several years.”

The production is currently slated to run May 31 through June 10.  Individual tickets to The Sound of Music, will not go on sale to the public until March 5, 2012. Speck said the package offer is the best opportunity for theatre goers to guarantee good seats—or seats at all.

“We anticipate 'The Sound of Music' to be one of our most popular shows of the season,” Speck said. “There is a possibility that we could sell out the run before the slated public on sale date in March.”

Demand for Studio Tenn productions has soared lately. In fact, the company decided to open up two additional performances of A Christmas Carol after the initial 10-show run came within 5% of a total sellout just days after Thanksgiving.

Speck said he has high hopes for the company's next two productions as well. The Miracle Worker, a play about the lives of Helen Keller and her teacher Annie Sullivan, will run February 23 through March 4 at the Franklin Theatre. Only after The Miracle Worker closes will individual tickets be made available for The Sound of Music, which is slated to run May 31-June 10.
