PlayhouseSquare Season Goes On Sale 9/9

The entire 2011-12 PlayhouseSquare season, including Broadway, dance, concerts, comedy and family shows, will go on sale to the public on September 9 beginning at 11 a.m. Tickets may be purchased at The PlayhouseSquare Ticket Office (1519 Euclid Ave.), by phone at 216-241-6000 or online at www.playhousesquare.org. Those purchasing tickets on the official PlayhouseSquare Season On Sale Day, September 9th, can take advantage of the following specials:

11 a.m. - 12 noon - no ticketing fees on orders placed during this hour
12 noon - 4 p.m. - receive one (1) $25 PlayhouseSquare gift card per order
4 p.m. - 5 p.m. - receive one (1) free parking pass per order during this hour
5 p.m. - 6 p.m. - no ticketing fees on orders placed during this hour

The 12th annual PlayhouseSquare District Block Party & Tour is set for Friday, September 9, from 5:00-9:00 p.m., on Star Plaza, located at Euclid Avenue and East 14th Street. The event features live entertainment presented by Downtown Cleveland Alliance; a tour of the newly reconfigured Allen Theatre; signature dishes by PlayhouseSquare restaurants, A Taste of Excellence, Johnsonville Sausage; a cash bar and The PlayhouseSquare Cornhole Championship Game. Tickets are $25 each, and can be purchased online at www.playhousesquare.org or at The PlayhouseSquare Ticket Office.

The 9th Annual Dance Showcase at PlayhouseSquare features nine of Northeast Ohio's best professional dance companies (African Soul International, Dance/Theater Collective, The Dancing Wheels Company, The Greene/Medcalf Movement Project, Inlet Dance Theatre, Neos Dance Theatre, Shri Kalaa Mandir, Verb Ballets and Sara Whale). There will also be a sneak peek dance performance from Twyla Tharp's new Broadway musical, Come Fly Away, featuring the legendary vocals of Frank Sinatra. The performance will be held at 7 p.m. on September 9th in the Palace Theatre and is free to the public.
