The Toxic Avenger made a special appearance at The Pond at Bryant Park yesterday, December 22, to greet fans and serenade the chilly holiday skaters. BroadwayWorld was on hand to cover the performance by The Toxic Avenger crew, which earned an Outer Critics Circle 2009 pick for Best New Off-Broadway Musical.
The Toxic Avenger, which celebrates its 300th performance on Sunday, December 27th
at 7:30PM, will play its last New York-based performance on Sunday, January 3rd, 2010 at New World Stages. A Canadian production is currently playing at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall, and a national tour is in the works for the fall of 2010.

Based on the 1985 classic cult film from Lloyd Kaufman, The Toxic Avenger features music and lyrics by David Bryan (keyboardist and founding member of Bon Jovi), book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro (I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change) and is directed by Tony Award® winner John Rando. Bryan and DiPietro also collaborated on Memphis now playing at the Shubert Theatre on Broadway.
