English National Opera's (ENO) spectacular new staging of ON THE TOWN begins 5 March, 2005 at the London Coliseum (Press Night 10 March, 2005). There will be 17 performances playing in repertory until 24 May, 2005 only.

The international cast of 57 includes singers Willard W. White, Lucy Schaufer, Rodney Clarke and Andrew Shore, musical theatre actors Helen Anker, Adam Garcia, Timothy Howar, Alison Jiear, Aaron Lazar and Caroline O'Connor and British actresses Sylvia Syms and Janine Duvitski.

With music by Leonard Bernstein, book and lyrics by Betty Comden & Adolph Green and based on an idea by Jerome Robbins, ON THE TOWN is directed by Jude Kelly, choreographed by Stephen Mear, conducted by Simon Lee, designed by Robert Jones with lighting by Mark Henderson.

ON THE TOWN is set in 1940s New York. 3 sailors on shore leave (Adam Garcia, Timothy Howar and Aaron Lazar) embark on the biggest adventure of their lives with just 24 hours to find fun and romance in the world's most exciting city.

The magnificent 2364-seat London Coliseum is London's largest theatre (largest capacity, largest stage and widest proscenium). Home to ENO since 1968, the building re-opened in 2004 following a four-year, £41 million restoration. The London Coliseum has an illustrious history of presenting great American musicals, hosting a succession of London premiere productions in the forties and fifties: Annie Get Your Gun (1947), Kiss Me, Kate (1951), Guys & Dolls (1953), Can-Can (1954), The Pajama Game (1955), Damn Yankees (1957) and Bells Are Ringing (1957). The tradition continues with the first ever London revival of ON THE TOWN.
