THE STORY OF MY LIFE, starring Will Chase and Tony Award nominee Malcolm Gets will be Broadway's first new musical of 2009 when it begins performances this February at the Booth Theatre. Tony Award winner and Broadway veteran Richard Maltby, Jr. (Ain't Misbehavin', Song & Dance) directs this original story about friendship, success and the choices we make at the turning points in our lives. THE STORY OF MY LIFE is written by Broadway newcomers Neil Bartram (score) and Brian Hill (book). Previews begin Tuesday, February 3rd with opening night set for Thursday, February 19th at 7:30PM.

Presented by Chase Mishkin and Jack M. Dalgleish, in association with Bud Martin, THE STORY OF MY LIFE features a scenic design by Robert Brill (Cabaret, Assassins); costume design by Wade Laboissonniere (associate designer of The Sound of Music); lighting design by Tony Award winner Ken Billington; (Sunday in the Park With George, Chicago); sound design by Carl Casella (Tale of Two Cities, Xanadu); and orchestrations by Tony, Emmy, Grammy and Academy Award winner Jonathan Tunick (A Chorus Line, Company, Into the Woods).

"We live in a time when people need something that is fun and authentic," says Malcolm Gets. "That is exactly what this musical is. It's a universal story about friendship. It's about the important things in our lives - relationships with people. This musical does not have a high-tech set. Instead it relies on two actors, great music and one hell of a show."

"This is a play about family relationships, true friendship and reconnecting with the simplest and purest qualities in our lives," says Will Chase. "Doing this production has really affected my life. It's the first time in my career that I have done a production that inspires me to call my friends and family after the curtain call."
