TheatreWorks in Palo Alto, CA continues its 37th season with a breathtaking revival of David Henry Hwang's Tony Award-winning exploration of love and politics, East and West, and men and women, M. Butterfly."This astonishing drama is based on the true story of a French diplomat and his love affair with a glamorous female Chinese opera star, an elusive 'butterfly' who turned out to be not only a spy, but a man," state press notes.Magnificent music and exotic dance enhance this Pulitzer Prize nominee directed by TheatreWorks Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley and starring Broadway actor Francis Jue (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Pacific Overtures) and nationally acclaimed actor Mark Capri, who reprise their award-winning roles. Contains mature themes, language, and brief nudity.M. Butterfly officially opens tonight, August 26 and runs through September 17.

Tuesdays: 7:30PM (no performance September 12)
Wednesdays through Fridays: 8PM
Saturdays: 2PM, 8PM (8PM only August 26, September 9)
Sundays: 2PM, 7PM (2PM only September 3 & 17; 7PM only September 10)TheatreWorks performs at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts located at 500 Castro Street (at Mercy).
