Lea Michele of Broadway's Spring Awakening kicked-off Broadway Artists Alliance's season of one-day master classes on Monday, October 8.

Michele lent her talents and expertise by teaching a song interpretation class focusing on pop and contemporary musical theatre to a group of eager young stars to be, ages 12-20.  Each participant performed their favorite audition song for Michele, who provided them with feedback and audition tips based on her own experiences.  In her Inside the Actor's Studio-style interview, Michele said that if she was not an actress, she would like to be a teacher.  This would be a perfect fit, as Michele was at ease and in her element with the young performers.

Participants in the one day class also worked on cold reading audition techniques and received the benefit of audition training and one on one feedback from a representative of Jim Carnahan Casting, in a master class that focused specifically on "The Pop Audition."

Due to the popularity of this one-day master class, BAA plans to schedule another master class of the same theme shortly.   Interested students may visit www.broadwayartistsalliance.org/masterclasses for the application and additional information.

Broadway Artists Alliance is the dynamic not-for-profit educational organization that is gaining a reputation for ensuring the future of great Broadway talent by bringing together Broadway artists and promising young performers.  Michele now joins Sutton Foster, Beth Leavel, Jason Robert Brown, Lauren Kennedy, John Lloyd Young, John Gallagher Jr, Stephen Schwartz, and Lea Salonga on Broadway Artists Alliance's roster of guest speakers and master class instructors.

Enrollment is selective for all Broadway Artists Alliance master classes and intensives. Those interested can find more information about Broadway Artists Alliance's upcoming October auditions and download applications by visiting www.broadwayartistsalliance.org
