Photo Flash: Actors' Playhouse Presents MADELINE'S CHRISTMAS

By:

Actors' Playhouse Musical Theatre for Young Audiences presents a little magic for the holidays this season with its acclaimed production of MADELINE'S CHRISTMAS, the delightful musical based on the popular Madeline book series by Ludwig Bemelmans.

This holiday favorite begins with the classic storybook line, "In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines lived twelve little girls in two straight lines." From there, the day begins like any other day for the girls and their caretaker Miss Clavel, but soon ends in disaster when everyone except Madeline gets the flu. Saddened that they may not be able to go home for Christmas, the girls and Miss Clavel take to their beds. Can Madeline save the day for everyone with the assistance of a mysterious Rug Merchant? Join Madeline and her friends live on stage at the Miracle Theatre to find out how and discover a little holiday magic for yourself.

MADELINE'S CHRISTMAS, with book and lyrics by Jennifer Kirkeby and music by Shirley Mier, will play at the Miracle Theatre from November 19th through December 26th, 2009. Performances are Saturdays at 2 p.m. Additional holiday performances will be held Sunday, December 20th and Thursday, December 24th at 5:00 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults and children and can be ordered online at www.actorsplayhouse.org or through the box office at 305.444.9293. Birthday party group rates for fifteen or more are available for show only and/or show and party reception. Corporate group bookings for holiday events are welcome.

Select weekday 10 a.m. performances are available for pre-arranged fieldtrips and can be booked through the education department at educate@actorsplayhouse.org or 305.444.9293 x 606. Actors' Playhouse provides detailed study guides and a talkback with the cast for all weekday student performances.

The 2009-2010 Theatre for Young Audiences season presents more amazing favorites including Jack and the Beanstalk (January 28-March 27, 2010), The National Children's Theatre Festival winner YOUNG KING ARTHUR (April 29-May 29, 2010) with the 2010 KIDS FEST all day cultural events taking place on May 1st and 2nd, and Pippi Longstocking (June 23-August 7, 2010).

Actors' Playhouse Musical Theatre for Young Audiences has been awarded the South Florida Parenting Magazine's Kid's Crown Award, voted by their readers, for "Best of the Best Live Entertainment for Kids in Miami-Dade County" and has also been named a Kid's Crown Hall of Fame Winner.
