A Class Act NY's latest workshop was star studded with Billy Elliot's Thommie Retter (Mr. Braithwaite) and Trevor Braun (Michael), who taught the students the Billy Elliot finale.
Parents: look no further! A Class Act NY, the award-wining studio for kids and teens ages seven to 17, has recently announced their Winter/Spring 2010 line-up!
As always, A Class Act NY will be bringing in Broadway luminaries, such as Tony Award winner, Sutton Foster who has appeared in eleven Broadway shows, (Shrek, Young Frankenstein, Thoroughly Modern Millie ,etc ) Chelsea Krombach (Elphaba understudy in Wicked), Tony Nominated actor, Celia Keenan-Bolger of Spelling Bee, MTV Reality Star & Legally Blondes Elle Woods, Bailey Hanks, nine time Broadway actor, Michelle Kittrell (Legally Blonde, All Shook Up, Hairspray, etc) and Thommie Retter of Billy Elliot fame to teach One-Day Musical Theatre Workshops and 6 Week Ongoing Classes!
In addition, kids will work with renowned Casting Director, Gayle Keller in a Film and Television Workshop. Gayle has cast a wide variety of television shows and feature films, such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Conviction, Bored To Death and she is currently working on a new family oriented show for Louis C K on F/X.
Award-winning Casting Director, Jennifer Rudin, who served as Director of Casting and Talent Development for Disney Theatrical Productions will also be teaching a Film and Television Workshop in 2010. Jennifer won the Artios Award for casting Chicken Little. Her extensive resume includes films such as The Princess and the Frog, Meet the Robinsons, The Incredibles and Brother Bear.
If this weren’t enough The Tony, Grammy and Emmy nominated Dani Davis and Jason Howland of Half Pint Productions will teach an Audition Boot Camp Workshop. Between this dynamic duo, Dani and Jason have directed, composed, and produced countless Broadway shows.
Artistic Director/Casting Director, Jessica Rofé will also be bringing back her widely popular Commercial and Voice-Over Workshops with Talent Agents. In the Voice-Over Workshop, kids will work in a professional recording studio complete with a sound engineer!
A Class Act NY students can be seen on Broadway in Billy Elliot, West Side Story, Finian’s Rainbow and in numerous television shows and feature films, including The Wonder Pets, Law & Order and the upcoming movie, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee starring Robin Wright Penn and Winona Ryder.
