Stage and screen greats Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline co-starred in a very special evening of Shakespeare performance entitled, "The Lover and the Poet." Proceeds from the event, which took take place on Monday, November 2nd at 7pm at Florence Gould Hall, and benefited The Acting Company.
Streep and Kline last co-starred in the Public Theater's Mother Courage and Her Children for Shakespeare in the Park. The pair will additionally recreate their roles in Mother Courage for the Public's Courage in Concert benefit on October 19. Additionally, Streep and Kline have appeared opposite each other in the Public's production of The Seagull and in the film Sophie's Choice, for which Streep won an Oscar.
