Photo Coverage: 'Queens Boulevard' Opening Night Party

Signature Theatre Company opened their world premiere production of Queens Boulevard (the musical) on Monday, December 3 at The Peter Norton Space (555 West 42nd Street, between 10th & 11th Aves), and has also announced a one-week extension of the production, to now run through January 6.  Queens Boulevard (the musical) is by Playwright-in-Residence Charles Mee, directed by Davis McCallum, and choreographed by Peter Pucci.

"On his wedding day, a new husband is determined to find the perfect gift for his bride.  While she waits at home, he searches for the mythical Flower of Heaven and is thrown into a series of colorful adventures on the streets of his neighborhood in Queens, New York.  Inspired by a classical Indian dance drama, Queens Boulevard (the musical) celebrates love, community and life," explain press notes.

The cast of Queens Boulevard (the musical) includes Amir Arison, Michi Barall, Satya Bhabha, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Bill Buell, Demosthenes Chrysan, Geeta Citygirl, Emily Donahoe, William Jackson Harper, Jodi Lin, Arian Moayed, Debargo Sanyal, Jon Norman Schneider, and Ruth Zhang.

Through The Signature Ticket Initiative, all regularly-priced tickets ($65) are available for $20 through December 30. Tickets for the extension week (January 2-6) will be $65. The $20 ticket initiative applies to the initial 8-week run of each production for the entire season and continues through Signature's 20th Anniversary Season (2010-2011). Queens Boulevard (the musical) features musical supervision and arrangements by Michael Friedman, music direction by Matt Castle, scenic design by Mimi Lien, costume design by Christal Weatherly, lighting design by Marcus Doshi, sound design by Ken Travis and video design by Joseph Spirito.

The performance schedule for Queens Boulevard (the musical) is Tuesday at 7PM, Wednesday through Saturday at 8PM, matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2PM.  There are additional performances on Sunday, December 9, December 30 and January 6 at 7PM.  There are no performances on December 5, or December 25.  The Open Captioned performance is December 15 at 2PM.
