The Paper Mill Playhouse's production of the Joe Raposo-Sheldon Harnick musical Wonderful Life, based on the classic holiday film, opened on November 12th after beginning previews on November 8th. It runs through December 17th.
The show stars James Clow as George Bailey and Catherine Brunell as Mary Bailey, as well as Jeff Brooks as Clarence, Nick Wyman as Henry Potter, Jordan Cable as Harry Bailey, John Jellison as Tom Bailey, Sean Martin Hingston as Sam Wainwright, Dale Radunz as Matthew, Kevin Bernard as Bert, Robert Creighton as Ernie Bishop, Jan Passano as Milly Bailey and J.B. Adams as Uncle Billy.
With book and lyrics by Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof, She Loves Me), music by Joe Raposo ("Sesame Street," Raggedy Ann), direction by James Brennan, musical direction by Tom Helm and choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, Wonderful Life "is the story of George Bailey, a small town banker with big time dreams that never came true. Time after time, George sacrificed his own ambitions for those around him, watching success slip right through his fingers. Now, on the night of his most devastating failure, worth more dead than alive, George contemplates suicide. But with the help of Clarence, an unlikely angel determined to get his wings, George will realize that success is defined in many ways, and that everything he has is everything a man could want," state Paper Mill notes.
