Photo Coverage: Nassour, Asher and Glasse Celebrate 'Honky Tonk Angel' at Barnes & Noble

Author Ellis Nassour hosted an event to celebrate his book, Honky Tonk Angel: The Intimate Story of Patsy Cline, updated edition (Chicago Review Press, 2008), and to honor the birthday and life of a country music legend. The event took place on Monday, September 8, 2008 at Barnes & Noble (Lincoln Square, 972 Broadway, New York, NY 10023). Nassour was interviewed about Cline's life and his book Honky Tonk Angel by respected theater critic Peter Filichia. Entertainment highlighted professional singers performing a selection of Patsy Cline songs, including award winning cabaret artist and actress Lisa Asher and actress Kayce Glasse, the original star of "Always, Patsy Cline" (a musical tribute to Cline derived from Honky Tonk Angel).  Music direction provided by Michael Lavine (Billion Dollar Baby, Carmelina at the York; Bush Is Bad, L..A.). Refreshments were provided by the famed Magnolia Bakery and Wine Cellar Sorbet.

With a foreword by Dottie West, Honky Tonk Angel chronicles the life and times of Patsy Cline in the words of the people who knew and loved her-such as country music stars Loretta Lynn, Brenda Lee and Roger Miller. Updated and revised from its first original publication in 1981 (then titled Patsy Cline), this definitive biography captures the heart and soul of this country singer whose life tragically ended at age 30 as a result of a plane crash. The new edition includes an afterword that details controversial claims about Cline's birth, the battle between her siblings for her possessions and the amazing influence she had on a new generation of singers, as well as a complete discography and more than forty new photographs.
