Photo Coverage: MacDowell Colony Celebration

MacDowell Colony, the nation's leading artists residency program, will celebrate their centennial in 2007.  The kick-off took place at its annual gala benefit in New York City on Monday, December 4th.

Distinguished broadcast journalist and MacDowell chairman Robert MacNeil was master of ceremonies of the program -- a festive salute to MacDowell Fellows past and present.  Among those who participated were Anne Jackson and Eli Wallach, the Grey Gardens creative team (who completed the musical at MacDowell), members of the Martha Graham Dance Company, and Lisa Kron.   There was also a tribute to Wendy Wasserstein, a MacDowell Fellow and board member, delivered by Paul Rudnick; it included a reading from her last play, Third, by Jill Eikenberry and Michael Tucker.

The event raised over $330,000 to support the Colony's eminent Fellowship program in Peterborough, New Hampshire.

Visit www.macdowellcolony.org for more information.
