Photo Coverage: Lambs Club Celebrates Bway: The Golden Age

On Monday, May 14th, the Lambs Club, America's oldest Actors Organization, established in the 1870's, celebrated director Rick McKay and his award-winning film, "Broadway: The Golden Age." McKay told backstage stories of creating the first film, showed never-before-seen out-takes, and treated the packed audience to the first peak at scenes and rare archival footage from next year's sequel, "Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age."

The event, the Lambs' traditional "Shepherd's Lunch" was organized by member Randy Phillips (Mame, Hello, Dolly!, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying) and Sheila Smith (Show Boat, Follies, Company, Mame, Sugar). Guests included "Broadway: The Golden Age" producing team Jamie deRoy, Jane Klain, Jack Coco and Richard Weigle, as well as Jane Summerhays (The Wild Party, Cabaret, Me and My Girl, Sugar Babies, A Chorus Line) and lawyer Mark Sendroff.

Some of the Lambs members present included stage and screen vets  Don Pippin (Mame, La Cage aux Folles, A Chorus Line, Mack & Mabel, Applause), Jill O'Hara (Promises, Promises, George M.), Abe Vigoda (Arsenic and Old Lace, Man in the Glass Booth, TV's "Barney Miller"), Joyce Randolph ("Trixie" on TV's "The Honeymooners"), Nicole Barth (Take Me Along, Carnival, Hello, Dolly!, The Happy Time, Dear World, Sugar) and Ryan Foy, the great-grandson of legendary Broadway legend and Vaudevillian Eddie Foy (Up and Down Broadway, The Harriets of Broadway, The Seven Little Foys) and the last male surviving member of the Foys to keep the name alive. Foy is a recent arrival in NYC, having just graduated from Michigan University and here to start an acting career on stage, following in the footsteps of his great-grandfather and his great-uncle Eddie Foy, Jr. (The Pajama Game, Rumple, Show Girl, The Cat and the Fiddle). Young Ryan Foy first discovered the film "Broadway: The Golden Age" while at school in Michigan, where the DVD is part of the curriculum for theatre students at the university.
