Premieres, in association with Primary Stages, introduced the cast of the world premiere of Inner Voices: Solo Musicals, to the press this week. Inner Voices consists of two one-act musicals: Mosaic with book & lyrics by Cheri Steinkellner and music and lyrics by Georgia Stitt, featuring Heidi Blickenstaff; and Whida Peru: Resurrection Tangle, with book and lyrics by David Simpatico and music by Josh Schmidt, featuring Judith Blazer. Jonathan Butterell directs both musicals, with musical direction by Andy Boroson, J. Oconer Navarro and Steve Marzullo.
Inner Voices: Solo Musicals is part of Primary Stages Spring Celebration celebrating 25 years with 25 days of events.
Mosaic, by Cheri Steinkellner & Georgia Stitt, is a multi-media, real-time half hour in the life -and on the MacBook - of Ruth, a woman blogging at the crossroads of birth, death, love and Diet Coke. The musical features Heidi Blickenstaff as Ruth with musical direction by Steve Marzullo.
Whida Peru: Resurrection Tangle, by David Simpatico & Josh Schmidt, goes into the chambers of a rare creature, as she is forced to evaluate the quality of life, death and what lies in between for her. The musical features Judith Blazer as Whida Peru with musical direction by Andy Boroson and J. Oconer Navarro.
Performances begin Friday, April 2, 2010 for a limited engagement through Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues).
