An aftershow party for Guys and Dolls' cast change was held at Floridita in London on August 7th.
Film star Swayze, who has also been seen on Broadway in Chicago and other shows, entered the hit London production as Nathan Detroit, while Claire Sweeney joined the show as Miss Adelaide. Both had been previously announced to play their first performances in July, but a nasty chest infection on Swayze's part delayed their dual opening in the show. Adam Cooper and Kelly Price play Sky Masterson and Sarah Brown, respectively.
Guys and Dolls, directed by Michael Grandage and choreographed by Rob Ashford, is playing an extended run at the Piccadilly Theatre through December 30th, 2006 (closing was previously announced for September). The revival originally featured Ewan McGregor and Jane Krakowski, among others. A UK tour, which will feature Sweeney and Nigel Harman for part of its run, is set to kick off in Glasgow in September.
