The Carlyle Hotel welcomed Olivier and Tony Award-winner Douglas Hodge (La Cage Aux Folles) to the legendary Café Carlyle in his debut engagement last night, March 15. Playing through Saturday, March 26, Mr. Hodge returns to New York to offer an evening of great American story songs, including some of his own compositions from the new musical, Meantime. For the act, he plays piano, guitar, and sings with support from a 3-piece band: Sonny Paladino (piano/musical director), Steve Millhouse (bass), and Jared Schonig (drums).

Douglas Hodge is a triple Olivier-nominated classical actor having worked at the National, RSC, Shakespeare's Globe and Royal Court in his native England. He won a Tony and an Olivier Award for his performance as ‘Albin' in La Cage Aux Folles. For ten years, he worked closely with Harold Pinter as an actor and director. He also served as associate director at the Donmar Warehouse in London, 2007-2009. He has two albums of his own compositions - Cowley Road Songs and Nightbus. Numerous television shows.
