Following three sell-out shows on Shaftesbury Avenue, Christmas in New York is released on CD ahead of the fourth annual instalment of the show at the Prince of Wales Theatre in December.
The CD features a cast of the West End's finest and foremost young performers, including Avenue Q's Julie Atherton and Daniel Boys, star of BBC 2's acclaimed Beautiful People and Desperate Romantics Samuel Barnett, Wicked's Oliver Tompsett and Ashleigh Gray, West End star and Notes from New York co-founder Paul Spicer, Broadway and West End leading lady Hannah Waddingham, Olivier Award winning star of Hairspray LeAnne Jones, previous Christmas in New York headliner Anna-Jane Casey, as well as Rachael Wooding, who is currently playing the title role in the UK tour of Evita, and Louise Dearman, whose credits also include the title role in Evita.
Christmas in New York is the West End's annual celebration of seasonal songs and classic carols, which started life in 2006 at the Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue. Christmas in New York has since played at the Lyric Theatre in both 2007 and 2008. It now finds a new home for 2009 at the Prince of Wales Theatre on Sunday 6 December. It is released as a studio cast recording for the first time.
Christmas in New York is produced by Neil Eckersley & Paul Spicer for Speckulation Entertainment, with creative direction by Paul Spicer and orchestrations and arrangements by Michael Bruce.
