On Monday, September 18th, Tony Award-winner Christine Ebersole, soon to open on Broadway in Grey Gardens, starred in a one-night extravaganza at New World Stages produced for The Actors' Fund of America.
Ebersole performed songs from the likes of Joni Mitchell, the Dixie Chicks, Bob Dylan, Michael McDonald and the Eagles. The evening featured a nine-piece band, back up singers, as well as an appearance by Grey Gardens co-star Bob Stillman and a pre-concert "Edie Beale Fashion Extravaganza." The band featured musical director Bette Sussman and Jay Braynford on saxophone, Dion Tucker on trombone, Clint Degannon on drums, Zev Katz on bass, Larry Saltzman on guitar, Cliff Carter on the synthesizer, Bill Moloney (who is Ebersole's husband) on percussion, Elaine Caswell on vocals and guitar, Catherine Russell on vocals, mandolin and guitar, and Eddie Allen on trumpet.
