Nominations for the 85th Academy Awards were announced this morning by the show's host, Seth MacFarlane, and actress Emma Stone. The film that theatre fans have been watching out for, LES MISERABLES received 7 nominations including Anne Hathaway for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. The actress, whose mother portrayed Fantine in a touring production of the musical reacted to news of the nomination this morning. "When I got cast, my mother gave me her cast jacket from when she did the tour. I put it on this morning. And I wore it on my first day of filming. I feel like I'm especially sharing it with her," she shared.
Hathaway appeared in the 2002 Encores! production of Carnival, and you can check out a photo of her in action below!Other nominations for LES MISERABLES include Actor in a Leading Role, Best Picture, Costume Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Song) and Production Design.Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented on Oscar Sunday, February 24, 2013, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, and televised live on the ABC Television Network. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries worldwide.
