Photo Flash: TIME BETWEEN US at NY Musical Theatre Festival

The New York Musical Theatre Festival presents the world premiere new musical TIME BETWEEN US - a beautifully haunting musical portrait of best friends, passions, and time - with music by Brett Schrier, book and lyrics by Tess Barker and Brett Schrier, and directed by Richard Amelius (Artistic Director of Delaware River Theatre Collective). TIME BETWEEN US is presented as part of the 2011 New York Musical Theatre Festival and will play at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre (2162 Broadway) in Manhattan beginning September 29 - with only 7 performances available.

Best friends Morgan and Matthew begin "real life" with the dream of having it all. But is it really possible to build the perfect career and personal life?Across the span of thirty years, irresistible opportunities and heart-wrenching decisions bring each of the friends towards achieving half of their dream - and force them to leave the other half behind. A beautifully haunting portrait of best friends, passions, and time.

TIME BETWEEN US has music by Brett Schrier, book and lyrics by Tess Barker and Brett Schrier, sound designer Shannon Slaton, lighting designer Aaron Spivey, projection designer Jesse Garrison, stage manager Angela F. Kiessel and is directed by Richard Amelius.

Cast for TIME BETWEEN US is Kristy Cates (WICKED; Jerry Springer, THE OPERA), Kasey Marino (HAIRSPRAY) and Tom Rainey (WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND; ALL SHOOK UP).

Brett Schrier is an accomplished composer, lyricist, and musical director. Brett has written and developed three full-length musicals: "Take Two! The Musical!," "Mr. Popper's Penguins," and "Time Between Us." His cabaret work and original musical arrangements are continually performed at distinguished New York venues: Ars Nova, Joe's Pub, The Duplex, and The Knitting Factory. Brett served as Music Director for Broadway In South Africa, and continues to educate young musicians around the globe. He is a proud member of ASCAP, The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.

Tess Barker is a playwright based in Los Angeles. Her theatrical work has been staged in cities across the country including: Boston, Los Angeles, and New York - and at prestigious venues including The Groundlings Theater, Hudson Theatricals, and New York Theater Barn (NYTB). Tess has also authored a number of original works for the screen, and recently adapted the best-selling novel 'Sold,' as a screenplay, set for production in early 2012. Tess studied theatre at Emerson College and holds a B.A. in Screenwriting from Loyola Marymount University.

Richard Amelius is currently the founder and Artistic Director of Delaware River Theatre Collective and previously served as Associate Artistic Director at Forestburgh Playhouse and Media Theatre.
