Photo Flash: Perry-Mansfield 'ART OF CABARET' Benefit
"The Art of Cabaret" was presented by the Perry-Mansfield performing arts school in a special one-night-only cabaret concert to benefit its scholarship fund hosted by Broadway veterans and cabaret singers Andrea Marcovicci and Karen Mason. There were featured performances by Barry Kleinbort and Terri Ralston (Perry-Mansfield master teachers), and musical directors Christopher Denny, Shelly Markham, and David Gaines. The event was held March 9th at The Metropolitan Room (34 West 22nd St.) and included special appearances by Perry-Mansfield "Art of Cabaret" alumni.
Now in its 96th year, Perry-Mansfield, founded by Charlotte Perry and Portia Mansfield, is recognized as the oldest continuously operating performing arts school and camp in the nation. Proceeds from the evening support scholarships for Perry-Mansfield's "The Art of Cabaret," one of the most successful programs for the study of song performance in the country. This year's program will be held August 24th through 31st, in the breathtaking mountain location of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
