Photo Flash: NOVEMBER Opens at CTG's Mark Taper Forum This Sunday, October 7

"November," David Mamet's scathingly hilarious take on the lengths to which politicians will go to win an election, opens at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum October 7, 2012, at 7 p.m. Performances continue through November 4. Check out photos of Ed Begley, Jr., Felicity Huffman and Rod McLachlan below!

Featuring Begley, Jr., Gregory Cruz, Huffman, McLachlan and Todd Weeks under the direction of Scott Zigler, "November" takes place a few days before a presidential election and incumbent Charles Smith (played by Begley) is in for a rough month -- his campaign funds are running out, his poll numbers are "lower than Gandhi's cholesterol" and the sofa needs to be reupholstered. But although his speechwriter (Huffman) seems to have defected, his chief of staff (McLachlan) has all but given up and his wife is planning for her post-White House life, Charles isn't ready to throw in the towel quite yet.

"November" features set design by Takeshi Kata, costume design by Laura Bauer, lighting design by Josh Epstein and casting by Erika Sellin. The production stage manager is Barclay Stiff.

David Mamet was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1984 for "Glengarry Glen Ross," for which he later wrote the screenplay. His other plays include "Speed-the-Plow," "American Buffalo," and "Boston Marriage," among others. CTG has presented "Romance" (2005-2006 season) and "Oleanna" (2009 season) at the Taper, and "Keep Your Pantheon"/"The Duck Variations"/"A Sermon" (2007-2008 season) at CTG's Kirk Douglas Theatre. Mamet's screenplays include "The Postman Always Rings Twice," "The Verdict," "The Untouchables" and "Wag the Dog." He has directed 10 films. Mamet created and was the executive producer of the critically acclaimed CBS-TV series "The Unit." He is a founding member of the Atlantic Theater Company, and the author of the bestselling "Bambi vs. Godzilla: On the Nature, Purpose, and Practice of the Movie Business"; "The Wicked Son"; "Three Uses of the Knife: On the Nature and Purpose of Drama"; "True and False: Heresy and Common Sense for the Actor"; and his current "The Secret Knowledge: On the Dismantling of American Culture."

Tickets and information are available at CenterTheatreGroup.org, the CTG box office located at the Ahmanson Theatre, or by calling (213) 628-2772.
