The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences presents Marc Robin's musical retelling of The Brothers Grimm tale SLEEPING BEAUTY, now through August 18th. With stereotypes shattered, rules broken and quests aplenty, this musical, with direction and choreography by Matt Raftery, is certain to surprise and delight. Get a first look at the production in the photos below!

In a fanciful and far-off kingdom, the vengeful sorceress Magenta places a wicked curse on the beautiful Princess Amber. Only a kiss from her one true love can unlock the spell and wake this Sleeping Beauty before it is too late. Will Prince Hunter overcome his fears as he scales the mountains, sails the dark sea and battles a dragon to prove his love to Princess Amber? Children are invited to participate in the magic throughout this captivating and colorful fairy tale, featuring a soaring score and lively choreography.

Starring in SLEEPING BEAUTY will be a cast of Chicagoland all-stars, including Summer Naomi Smart as "Princess Amber", Michael Aaron Lindner as "King Lapis", Cathy Lord as "Magenta", Anne Gunn as "Marigold", Alex Goodrich as "Prince Hunter", Jameson Cooper as "Topaz", Kelly Anne Clark as "Periwinkle" and Dara Cameron as "Ruby".

Lead Artistic Director Andy Hite heads the artistic team, with direction and choreography by Matt Raftery. Musical Direction is by Ryan T. Nelson, Sound Design by Robert Gilmartin, Lighting Design by JaRed Moore and Costume Design by Nancy Missimi. The Musical Supervisor is Patti Garwood, and the Marriott Theatre orchestra is conducted by Jeff Bell.
