The off-Broadway hit, 'Love, Loss and What I Wore' welcomed a new cast on February 4, consisting of funny-women Janeane Garofalo, Carol Kane, Joanna Gleason, June Diane Raphael and Caroline Rhea. The current cast will play through February 28.
Attendees at the February 4 performance included Melissa Joan Hart, Chris Sarandon and TV and stage star Michael Urie, who attended along with co-stars from the Off-Broadway production of 'The Temperamentals' Matthew Scheneck and Sam Breslin Wright. Author Ilene Beckerman, whose book 'Love, Loss, and What I Wore' was the source for the play, was also present.
'Love, Loss, and What I Wore', an intimate collection of stories by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, directed by Karen Carpenter and based on the bestselling book byIlene Beckerman, opened October 1, 2009 to rave reviews at The Westside Theatre (407 West 43 Street, NYC) and has been extended through March 2010. The show's March line-up will include Rosie O'Donnell, Fran Drescher, Natasha Lyonne, and Didi Conn.
'Love, Loss, and What I Wore' is based on Beckerman's popular book, as well as on the recollections of the Ephrons' friends. Like the book, 'Love, Loss, And What I Wore' uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories that all women can relate to.
