Twentieth Century Fox has released the first production stills for "The Sitter," a new comedy from "Pineapple Express" director David Gordon Green. Sean Patrick Doyle, of Broadway's La Cage Aux Folles, will appear opposite Jonah Hill ("Superbad" and "Moneyball") and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane) in the film, opening in theaters nationwide on December 9th.
Hill stars as a college student on suspension, who is coaxed into babysitting three rambunctious kids next door. He is woefully unprepared for the wild night ahead of him, and becomes entangled with an eccentric drug dealer played by Rockwell. Doyle plays Rockwell's dim-witted, roller-skating toadie Garv.
Doyle originated the role of Chantal the Songbird in the Tony-winning revival of La Cage Aux Folles. Off-Broadway, he appeared as Loki in Tarell McCraney's Wig Out! at the Vineyard Theatre, under the direction of Tina Landau. He broke tradition as the first countertenor to portray the role of Fruma-Sarah, in the North American tour of Fiddler on the Roof opposite Topol, Theodore Bikel, and Harvey Fierstein. International credits include the Asian and European tours of West Side Story and the Asian tour of Fame: the Musical. Doyle's television appearances include "Law and Order," and "The Kennedy Center Honors," at the John F. Kennedy Center where he has performed in numerous concerts and operas. He will join the North American touring company of Mary Poppins in January.
