Photo Flash: First Look - Andrew Rannells and the Cast of NBC's THE NEW NORMAL

Deadline.com reports that NBC has just picked up GLEE producer Ryan Murphy's new series THE NEW NORMAL. GLEE writer Ali Adler is on board to write for the show.

The show stars Justin Bartha and Andrew Rannells as a gay couple who form a family with a surrogate. NBC is considering an August 2012 release, on the tails of the Summer Olympics. Tony winner Ellen Barkin and NeNe Leakes are set to costar.

Bartha starred as Max in Broadway's recent revival of Lend Me a Tenor, and Barkin played Dr. Emma Brookner in last year's The Normal Heart. Rannells currently plays Elder Price in Broadway's The Book of Mormon and has also performed on Broadway in Hairspray and Jersey Boys.
