Photo Flash: Celeste Holm Portrait Unveiled at Lillian Booth Actors Home

By:

Broadway and film legend Celeste Holm was joined by her husband, Frank Basile, and Joel Spector, the artist who painted her portrait, as a beautiful painting of her likeness was unveiled on Thursday, May 31st, at The Actors Fund's Lillian Booth Actors Home in Englewood, New Jersey. The portrait is now a part of the Permanent Collection of art at The Home. See a photo, featuring Holm, Basile and Spector at the unveiling, below!

A capacity crowd gathered and guests toasted Ms. Holm, known for her Academy Award-winning performance in Gentleman's Agreement (1947), as well as for her Oscar-nominated performances in Come to the Stable (1949) and All About Eve (1950) and her celebrated turn as Broadway's original Ado Annie from Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! (1943).

The painting was gifted by Joel to The Actors Fund as a tribute to Celeste Holm's many years of service. Ms. Holm played a leading role in both planning for fundraising and renovating The Actors Home, served as a Trustee Chair of the Committee overseeing The Home and as a member of The Fund's National Board of Advisors.
