On February 6 five of Young Broadway's favorite blondes presented BLONDE AMBITION a one-night-only concert to benefit Broadway Barks, Bernadette Peters' and Maty Tyler Moore's shelter animal charity. Check out our photo coverage of the event below, which features Bernadette Peters and Phillys Newman as well as the stars of the show.

The evening featured Hunter Ryan Herdlicka ("A Little Night Music"), Lora Lee Gayer ("Follies"), Tess Soltau ("The Addams Family"), Ryah Nixon ("9 to 5" national tour), and Jessica Waxman, with musical direction by Benjamin Rauhala.

Broadway Barks is a charity all five of the performers hold near and dear to their hearts, particularly Herdlicka and Gayer, who both shared the Broadway stage with ‘Barks' founder Bernadette Peters, and Waxman, who adopted her beloved puppy Woody through ‘Barks.'

Broadway Barks came about as a result of Bernadette Peters' and Mary Tyler Moore's passion for animals. Originally conceived as a program to promote the adoption of shelter animals, Broadway Barks has evolved into an event that has not only focused on the plight of homeless animals but has opened the door of communication and fostered a spirit of community among the number shelters and rescue groups working throughout the city. Previously many of these groups struggled in anonymity and isolation left to their own devices for promotion and fundraising in a job which is emotionally draining.
