Photo Flash: Beef & Board's 7 BRIDES FOR 7 BROTHERS

By:

The lively stage version of the rip-roaring MGM film "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" kicks off at Beef & Boards Aug. 26. Get ready for some fun as these brothers get a lesson in "goin' courtin'" through Oct. 4.

When Adam takes Milly as his young bride in the 1850s Oregon wilderness, his six brothers decide they want wives of their own. To help - and to ensure the success of her own marriage - Milly takes it upon herself to civilize her six rowdy brothers-in-law. But her plans backfire when the brothers, in their enthusiasm, kidnap six women from a neighboring town to be their brides. Milly must help the bevy of beautiful girls endure the long winter until their fathers arrive in the spring for a mass shotgun wedding of the 12 young lovers.

Great songs fill this show including "Bless Your Beautiful Hide," "Goin' Courtin'" and "Wonderful, Wonderful Day."

Bursting with the rambunctious energy of the original film, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers is all boisterous fun and romance that harkens back to the Glory Days of the movie musical.

Tony Lawson reprises his role as Adam Pontipee, the eldest of the seven brothers. But for this production, he is joined by his real-life bride-to-be Krista Severeid in the spunky role of Milly. The couple will marry shortly after the show closes!

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is directed by Douglas E. Stark and choreographed by Ron Morgan. Terry Woods is the music director.

There are 45 performances of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers in the intimate atmosphere of Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre. Tickets shows range from $34 to $57, and include Chef Odell Ward's dinner buffet, full salad bar and unlimited coffee, tea and lemonade. Parking is always free.

For reservations, call the Box Office at 317.872.9664 anytime between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays.
