By:

Beavercreek Community Theatre's Children's Theatre will present "A Little Princess" at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays from April 24 through May 3.

This enchanting story is based on the famous classic written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, author of "The Secret Garden."

Sara Crew, portrayed by Sarah Conrad of Fairborn, is a rich girl adored by her father and treated as a princess at boarding school - until her father dies. Forced to live as a pauper, her life is turned upside down until a mysterious gentleman from India moves in next door and curious things begin to happen.

The cast and crew, who range from elementary through high school students, is being directed by Teresa Connair, a professional actress who has been teaching and directing in the Dayton area since 1995.

Bruce Brown, who studied Theatrical Set Design at Brigham Young University and has designed over 75 sets for Miami Valley theaters since 1997, has designed the set.

John Falkenbach, who has been involved in educational, community and professional theater for about 35 years, is the technical director.

The cast and crew includes Beavercreek residents Katherine Toronto, Anna Schlegel, Emily Bochenek, Ellie Larson, Liz Kittner, Brooklynne Dilley, Valerie Ryan, Lorrin Bush, Lindsey Beaty, Maggie Bochenek, Lauren Breitenstein, Katie Clark, Anna Crichton, Grace Culpepper, Emily Marticello, Kierra Santalucia, Michaela Santalucia, Maria Schlegel, Katie Scott, Maddy Swanson, Megan Miller and Emily Knight.

It also includes Danielle Sedwick from Brookville and Mary Mykytka from Kettering as well as Dayton residents Naomi Thomas, Sarah Parsons, Raine DeDomonici, Kyle Mercuri, Lauren Counts, Serenity McKenzie and Katie Wilhelm.

The assistant director and stage manager is Katie Storost of Kettering and the student assistant director and stage manager is Rachel Sebastian, a Beavercreek High School senior. Anne Heitker of Beavercreek is the producer and costumer.

There will be a mat area directly in front of the stage for children ages 10 and younger. An adult or older child may accompany a child on the mats, which includes limited space and is by general admission.

Seat prices are $12 for adults and $11 for BCT members, senior citizens and students, age 13 and older. For children age 12 and younger, seat tickets are $7 and mat tickets are $5. Mat tickets for those accompanying a young child are $10 for adults and $9 for BCT members, senior citizens and students. A group discount of $1 per ticket is available to groups of 10 or more purchased at the same time for the same performance.

Any reservation for more than 4 seats must be paid in advance and reserved tickets not claimed 20 minutes prior to curtain might be sold to someone else. Every person, regardless of age, must have a ticket, including infants.

Tickets can be reserved by calling BCT at (937) 429-4737 and leaving a message or by e-mailing boxoffice@bctheatre.org.
