A Class Act NY, Manhattan's award-winning acting studio for kids and teens just wrapped up their by audition only summer course, their July Pre-Professional Program! During this week-long intensive, 24 lucky young artists, ages 12 to 18, were challenged to expand their theatre performance skills and explore more advanced work. At the end of the week, participants made their off-Broadway Debut in a final performance at The Riverside Theatre in Manhattan for friends, family and industry professionals, including talent representatives and casting experts. This performance was specially designed to showcase the skills and challenging material students mastered throughout the week. On Wednesday, participants were also taken to see the matinee of the Tony Award-winning KINKY BOOTS and were also treated to a talk-back with the actors after the show.

The Pre-Professional Program faculty included Artistic Director, Jessica Rofé, Broadway Veteran, Briana Carlson-Goodman (LES MISERABLES, HAIR, DOCTOR ZHIVAGO) and music director, Kevin Winebold. In addition to working with these industry professionals, a multitude of Broadway performers spent the week sharing their methods and insights with young artists looking to broaden their artistic horizons. Guest teaching artists included Broadway's Brian Gonzales (ALADDIN, ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS, SPELLING BEE), Ron Piretti (THE LAST SHIP, WEST SIDE STORY, IN THE HEIGHTS), Ian Knauer (STATE FAIR, BY JEEVES), Tera Lee-Pollin (MAMMA MIA!) and John Hemphill (SCHOOL OF ROCK, MAMMA MIA!).
