Photo Coverage: Upright Cabaret at Viceroy in Palm Springs
LA's Upright Cabaret continued their season of star-studded performances poolside at the Viceroy Hotel with a line-up including recently wrapped Wicked star Eden Espinosa, "Rockstar: INXS'" Ty Taylor, Oprah Winfrey favorite Jake Simpson, crooner Tim Draxl and Judy Garland's grand-niece singer/songwriter Audra Mae.
Since expanding to Palm Springs in December 2007 (Shoshana Bean, Jennifer Leigh Warren, Chad Kimball, Leslie Odom Jr. and Jake Simpson performed on that innagural show), these one-night-only dining and concert experiences have been drawing critical acclaim. In its 1950's prime, Palm Springs nightlife was almost as popular as its pools. Supper clubs like the Chi Chi hosted all of the great stars of the day and helped define an era of style and sophistication that Palm Springs is now famous for. This era was also a time when Hollywood stars could sing, act, dance and occasionally tell a few jokes. Each month, producers Chris Isaacson and Shane Scheel will be bringing their magical evening of cuisine, style and song to the Viceroy Hotel in the heart of Palm Springs and to Mark's Restaurant in West Hollywood. Also, look for Upright Cabaret to be expanding to Santa Barbara this summer and San Diego in the fall.Photos by Tye Jakobs www.tyejakobs.com
