Beverly Hills, California, January 14, 2013 -- BroadwayWorld.com (BWW), through Filipino-American journalist Elton Lugay, mingled with Hollywood's A-list actors and Broadway favorites Justin Bartha, Glenn Close, Tom Hooper, Katharine McPhee, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, Denzel Washington, and more at the 70th Golden Globe Award red carpet rolled out at Beverly Hilton Hotel last night.
Hooper's faithful film adaptation of the 1987 Tony Award-winning musical "Les Miserables," written by Claude-Michel Schonberg, Alain Boublil, and Herbert Kretzmer, which in turn was inspired by the French historical novel of the same name by Victor Hugo, won this year's Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy.
"Les Miserables," which also gave Hathaway and Jackman the top acting prizes last night, bested films "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel," "Moonrise Kingdom," "Silver Linings Playbook," and "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen."
Our heartfelt thanks to Ruben Nepales, chairman of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, for BWW's access to the Golden Globe Awards.
