Photo Coverage: Meet the Cast of MOTHERHOOD OUT LOUD!

Primary Stages will continue its 27th season with the New York premiere of the new play, Motherhood Out Loud, conceived by Susan R. Rose and Joan Stein. Directed by Lisa Peterson, the cast will feature Mary Bacon, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, Randy Graff and James Lecesne. The cast met the press yesterday, August 23, and BroadwayWorld was there for the big event. Click below to check out photos from the festivities.

Performances begin Tuesday, September 20, 2011 for a limited run through Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Opening night is set for Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.

When entrusting the subject of motherhood to such a dazzling collection of celebrated American writers, what results is a joyous, moving, hilarious, and altogether thrilling theatrical play. Utterly unpredictable, Motherhood Out Loud shatters traditional notions about parenthood, unveils its inherent comedy and celebrates the deeply personal truths that span and unite generations. Motherhood Out Loud reveals with illuminating insight the humor, raw emotions and rocky roads we experience in life. Written by Leslie Ayvazian, David Cale, Jessica Goldberg, Beth Henley, Lameece Issaq, Claire LaZebnik, Lisa Loomer, Michele Lowe, Marco Pennette, Theresa Rebeck, LuAnne Rice, Annie Weisman and Cheryl L. West, under the direction of Lisa Peterson, Motherhood Out Loud received its triumphant World Premiere at Hartford Stage and recently completed its West Coast premiere at the Geffen Playhouse (as In Mother Words).

The creative team includes Rachel Hauk (Set), David C. Woolard (Costumes), Christopher Kuhl (Lights), Jill B.C. DuBoff (Sound), Jan Hartley (Projections), Emily Hubley (Animation) and Donald S. Fried (Production Stage Manager).

Motherhood Out Loud will play the following performance schedule: Tuesdays-Thursdays at 7:00 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m. on September 25, October 2 & 9, and a special Wednesday matinee at 2:00 p.m. on October 12. Following the public performances on October 6 & 13, there will be a special "Artist/Audience Talkback" for the attendees of those performances.

Single tickets for Motherhood Out Loud are priced at $46 for the first two weeks (September 20 - October 2) and $66 for all remaining performances (October 5 - 29). $1 will be added to all Motherhood Out Loud tickets as a donation to their charity partner, Choices in Childbirth. Tickets may be purchased by calling Ticket Central at (212) 279-4200, online at www.primarystages.org, or in person at the 59E59 Theaters Box Office. Group Tickets (6+) are $36 each for the first two weeks (September 20 - October 2) and $46 each for all remaining performances (October 5 - 29), and are available by calling (212) 840-9705, ext. 204. Please visit the website at www.primarystages.org, or call (212) 840-9705 for additional information.

The special Pay What You Can ticket offer (now in its fourth season at Primary Stages) will be available for the first two preview performances on September 20 & 21 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets go on sale two hours prior to curtain at a minimum of $1 per ticket and are limited to two (2) tickets per person, cash only, no change given, must provide mailing address and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, only at the 59E59 Theater Box Office.

For theater patrons 35 and under, Primary Stages offers specially priced $20 tickets (maximum two tickets per valid ID). Advance tickets are available through Ticket Central using code PS35. Failure to present a valid ID will result in an additional fee. All tickets are subject to availability.

Currently onstage at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters through September 3 is the World Premiere production of the new comedy Olive and the Bitter Herbs by Charles Busch, a work commissioned by the company. With direction by Mark Brokaw, the cast features Dan Butler, David Garrison, Julie Halston, Marcia Jean Kurtz and Richard Masur.

The 2011/2012 season continues with the World Premiere of the new comedy, Rx, by Kate Fodor (January 24, 2012 - March 3, 2012) directed by Ethan McSweeny and concludes with the New York Premiere of the new play, The Morini Strad, by Willy Holtzman directed by Primary Stages Founder Casey Childs (March 20, 2012 - April 28, 2012).

Discounted 3-play and 4-play subscription packages for previews and regular performances priced from $99-$172 are now available by calling Ticket Central at (212) 279-4200 or online at www.primarystages.org. For additional information about Primary Stages, please visit the website at www.primarystages.org.
