Photo Coverage: Friars Club Hosts Steve Tyrell
If the walls of the Friars Club could tell their stories the history of show business would come to life. Luckily this history is accurately retold and chronicled by each generation of Friars. Friar HistorIan Bruce Charet, a member of the Board of Governors and Friar Mark Simone Admissions Committee Chairman started the evening off by telling the overflow audience in the Milton Berle Room that "Tonight the Friars is the Copa"!
Most of the great singers of our era performed at the Copa and last night the Friars hosted Friar Steve Tyrell who surely would have joined those ranks if he was performing during that time. Steve is headlining at The Carlyle May 7th to 18th. Prior Stewie Stone warmed up the assembled and Hilary Kole and Loston Harris performed proceeding Friar Regis Philbin's introduction and interview of Steve Tyrell. Mr. Tyrell sang some tunes from his upcoming show at the Carlyle "It's Magic", The songs of Sammy Cahn.
