Photo Coverage: Chicago Gala Curtain Call and Party

The revival of Chicago celebrated its 10th year on Broadway in a star-studded gala event on Tuesday, November 14th at the Ambassador Theatre.

The original stars of the revival, Ann Reinking, Bebe Neuwirth, James Naughton, J oel Grey, Marcia Lewis and D. Sabella joined over 30 star alumni, including Brooke Shields, Chita Rivera, Melanie Griffith, John O'Hurley, Kevin Richardson, and Ash Lee Simpson, in a special one-night-only performance of the show. The evening benefited Safe Horizon, which provides support, prevents violence and promotes justice for victims of crimes and abuse, their families and communities.

Chicago, which opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on November 14th, 1996, has reached a run of 4,163 performances at the Ambassador Theatre (215 W. 49th St.). Chicago, which concerns the rise and rivalry of two murderous chorines, received 6 1997 Tonys (including Best Revival of a Musical) under the direction of Walter Bobbie and the choreography of star Ann Reinking. The revival, based on Bobbie's stylistically stripped-down Encores! staging, featured direction and choreography by Bob Fosse in its original 1975 production. Chicago features a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb, and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse. Barry and Fran Weissler are the show's producers.
