Photo Coverage: Bernadette Peters at the Bronx Zoo

Stella is a Star and so is Bernadette Peters, who, if all goes to plan, will be seen back on Broadway later this summer in FOLLIES. As part of the Animal Tales Extravaganza at the Wildlife Conservation Society's Bronx Zoo, Bernadette Peters read and signed her latest children's book, Stella Is A Star to audiences at the zoo on Saturday, June 25. Following the reading, Bernadette sang Broadway Barks, an original song from her first children's book of the same name.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book benefits Broadway Barks and goes towards saving the lives of animals in shelters and raising awareness about the beauty of adoption.
Throughout her illustrious career, Tony Award-winning actress Bernadette Peters has dazzled audiences and critics with her performances on stage and television, in concert, and on recordings. Ms. Peters just appeared on Broadway in the Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler Tony Award-winning masterpiece, A Little Night Music, starring opposite Elaine Stritch. This spring she starred in the highly anticipated production of Follies at the Kennedy Center, a role which she is expected to reprise on Broadway as well. Recently, she added author and songwriter to her roster of achievements with her debut children's book, "Broadway Barks", aptly named after the organization she co-founded with good friend, Mary Tyler Moore.
