Manhattan Theatre Club's New York premiere of Golden Age the new play by four-time Tony Award winner Terrence McNally, directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie opened last night at MTC at New York City Center – Stage I (131 West 55th Street). Its opening night of Vincenzo Bellini's (Emmy Award nominee Lee Pace) new opera I Puritani in Paris, and the Italian composer is determined to win the adulation of not only his audience, but his colleagues and rivals as well. When the curtain falls, will a thunderous ovation cement his prominence? Or has Bellini unwittingly composed his own swan song?

Blending 21st century language with the timeless beauty of 19th century bel canto opera, Terrence McNally's new play, portrays the final act of an artist whose desire for greatness has eclipsed all else.

As a 14 year old youth, Walter was transfixed by his first Broadway Show, the original production of 'GREASE'. His Journey to celebrity photojournalism began that fateful night. Meeting, photographing and getting to know the cast inspired him to spend his professional life doing what he loved. Walter moved to Manhattan and for a leading role as a Photographer & Photo Researcher. Currently headlining in New Jersey with his partner Richard and family members Dali (Jack Russell) & Gala (Schnoodle). Recently he made his Broadway debut sharing the stage with Hugh Jackman in 'Hugh Jackman on Broadway' as well as receiving the Actors' Equity Association Gypsy Spirit Award.
