Photo Coverage: Baz Luhrmann Visits FOR THE RECORD: BAZ LURHMANN
Acclaimed filmmaker Baz Luhrmann stopped by Show at Barre's production of FOR THE RECORD: Baz Luhrmann to catch a performance of the sold out critically acclaimed concert that celebrates his Red Curtain Trilogy (Moulin Rouge, Romeo and Juliet, Strictly Ballroom). Following the performance, Mr. Luhrmann took the microphone and congratulated the cast. "Bravo! Absolutely bravo! I had an out of body experience tonight."
Producers recently announced the extension of the concert event. Performances are currently scheduled through June 11th. The concert features stage and screen star Tracie Thoms (Cold Case, Devil Wears Prada, Death Proof, Film and Broadway's Rent) and Jenna Leigh Green (Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Broadway'sWicked), Broadway vets Ginifer King (Gypsy, Cyrano), Brooke Tansley (Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast), Sarah Jayne Jensen (Gypsy), Arielle Jacobs (In The Heights), Darryl Semira (Bombay Dreams, Spamalot), Jason Paige, Jim Holdridge, Michael Motroni, Ben Goldberg, John Charles Meyer, Derek Klena and Steve Mazurek.
Conceived by Show at Barre Executive Producer/Director Shane Scheel and Musical Director Chris Bratten, the "For the Record" series is a 360 degree concert experience that celebrates signature songs and iconic scenes from Hollywood's most legendary directors. FOR THE RECORD: TARANTINO will play the Long Center for the Performing Arts in Austin, TX during the 2011 SXSW Festival. FOR THE RECORD: John Hughes, starring Barrett Foa (NCIS: Los Angeles and Broadway's Avenue Q, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) will debut in New York City in June 2011. FOR THE RECORD: COEN BROTHERS will premiere Summer 2011.
