Lord
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir
Tim Rice's newest musical, The Wizard of Oz, recently closed a successful run in London's West End and is now headed for Toronto - complete with a new CBC reality program called 'Over The Rainbow' to cast our Canadian Dorothy.
Thousands of girls tried out, a lucky twenty made it to 'Dorothy Farm' and from there, Lord
Andrew Lloyd Webber himself had a hand in picking the ten girls who would be broadcast into homes across the nation each week to vie for the votes (and the hearts) of Canada.
The show kicked off Sunday night with Lord Lloyd Webber in attendance, as well as host Daryn Jones and judges
Arlene Phillips,
Thom Allison and
Louise Pitre. The top ten Dorothys each performed a number and the first elimintation is set to take place Monday evening. BWW was on hand to capture all the excitement of the very first show, and we are thrilled to bring you these exclusive photographs.
Be sure to tune into Over the Rainbow every Sunday and Monday night at 8PM on CBC Television and cast your vote!
