Patrick Breen, Luke MacFarlane and Christopher J. Hanke to Lead THE NORMAL HEART National Tour

Arena Stage today announced initial casting for its limited engagement of THE NORMAL HEART, which will run June 8 to July 29, 2012 and will coincide with AIDS 2012, the biennial international AIDS conference that returns to the United States for the first time in 22 years.

Patrick Breen (The Good Wife, Nurse Jackie) and Luke MacFarlane (Brothers & Sisters, Over There, Kinsey), who appeard in the Broadway production, will play Ned Weeks and Felix Turner, respectively. They'll be joined by Christopher J. Hanke (Big Love, HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING) as Tommy Boatwright and a team that includes David Rockwell (Sets), Martin Pakledinaz (Costumes), David Weiner (Lighting), David Van Tieghem (Sound and Original Music) and Batwin & Robin (Projections).

The 2011 production of THE NORMAL HEART was produced on Broadway by Daryl Roth, Paul Boskind and Martian Entertainment in association with Gregory Rae and Jayne Baron Sherman/Alexander Fraser. The 25th anniversary Broadway staged reading of THE NORMAL HEART was held on October 18, 2010, produced by Daryl Roth and directed by Joel Grey. The Arena Stage engagement of the production is to be the first stop on a national tour; additional dates will follow.
