New Jersey native Paige Price will present her one-woman musical show "The eX-Files" at the Brook Arts Center for one night only on Friday, November 17th at 8:00 p.m.
Price, who has appeared in the Broadway shows Saturday Night Fever, Smokey Joe's Café, and Beauty and the Beast, will return to her hometown in a benefit for the recently renovated Brook Arts Center, which was devastated by Hurricane Floyd in 1999.
"The eX-Files" is a collection of true stories, mostly comic, about life and love in the city. The show was featured on ABC's "The View" and has played various venues in New York City. The new version will be adapted for the expected local crowd to include tales from the actress' career.
"I am thrilled to be able to perform on the stage of the Brook. It's where I saw first movie musical (Mary Poppins). I urge the community to support the mammoth effort that has gone into the revitalization of downtown Bound Brook and is realized in this gorgeous theatre," stated Price, who was recently appointed First Vice President of Actors' Equity.
The musical director is Ed Alstrom, currently an orchestra member of Broadway's Hairspray and the official organist for the New York Yankees. Alstrom accompanied Price at her previously sold out show of "The eX-Files" at the Zipper Theatre in New York.
The show will be presented one night only on Friday, November 17th, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $35 and are tax-deductible. Tickets can be purchased on the Brook website at www.brookarts.org or by calling 732-469-7700. Reservations are highly recommended. The Brook Arts Center is located at the Brook Theatre, 10 Hamilton Street, Bound Brook, New Jersey 08805. The New Jersey Transit Bound Brook station is across the street.
