PHOTO FLASH: HAMILTON's Lin-Manuel Miranda: 'I Laughed My Brains Out' at SPAMILTON

Not every stage celebrity targeted by the sharp satirical darts of Obie and Drama Desk Award winner Gerard Alessandrini in his brilliant editions of Forbidden Broadway has taken kindly to the master parodist's Tony honored spoofing, but apparently HAMILTON's Lin-Manuel Miranda enjoyed the honor.

The Pulitzer and Tony-winning creator of Broadway's revolutionary smash, HAMILTON, was in the audience last night at SPAMILTON, Alessandrini's first-ever parody show fully dedicated to a current musical. (Devout fans will remember his 2001 reworking of Irving Berlin's MR. PRESIDENT, long after that one closed.)

"I laughed my brains out," Miranda posted on Twitter.

Longtime Forbidden Broadway pianist Fred Barton, who was at the keyboard last night, noted that HAMILTON director Thomas Kail and music director/orchestrator Alex Lacamoire were also in the house.

The starry audience also included Broadway's kid ambassador Iain Armitage, a/k/a Iain Loves Theatre, and Mad Magazine's legendary writer Dick DeBartolo.

From Gerard Alessandrini, the mastermind behind Forbidden Broadway, comes Spamilton: An American Parody, a sneak peek into his ongoing obsession with Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton. This summer, for 18 performances only, audiences will have the opportunity to share in Alessandrini's madness, at the Triad (158 West 72nd Street), for an evening that celebrates, roasts and eviscerates the Broadway blockbuster.

Not only does the show parody HAMILTON, but so does its ticket lottery. Coined #Spam4Roosevelt based on FDR on the American dime, this 10-cent lottery takes after the popular #Ham4Ham lottery tradition being offered before select performances of Hamilton. Participants can enter the lottery in person at the Triad 40 minutes prior to curtain time to enter their names for the chance to see that evening's performance. 30 minutes prior to the show, names will be chosen at random by Alessandrini himself. Limit one entry per person and up to two tickets per winner. Tickets are subject to availability.
