ADVANCED CHEMISTRY proves that when it comes to sex, you're never old enough to know better. This pair of award-winning one-act comedies looks at love and lust among the senior crowd. The opening play, MOURNING GLORY, takes a light-hearted look at the situation. It explores the question: What is the appropriate waiting period before a guy can hit on his dead friend's spouse? And how long should she wait if her late husband was lousy in bed? The second play, GETTING LUCKY, digs into deeper and more intimate terrain. This play deals with an older couple who decide to take their relationship further physically, only to learn that just one of them wants to take it further emotionally.ADVANCED CHEMISTRY has had staged readings and workshops in New York, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Oregon and Michigan, but it has not yet been professionally produced. The readings have featured such actors as Ed Asner, Olympia Dukakis, Dick Latessa (Tony Award, Best Supporting Actor, for HAIRSPRAY), Louise Lasser, Fyvush Finkel (Emmy Award, Best Featured Actor, PICKET FENCES) and Lynn Cohen (Magda on SEX AND THE CITY).
Suggested donation is $5 per person.Awards:· ADVANCED CHEMISTRY Winner - 2002 Pickering Award for Playwriting Excellence
· MOURNING GLORY won the 2001 Civic Theatre New Play Contest
· GETTING LUCKY won the 2004 New Voice Play Festival.
