Ogunquit Playhouse Presents DISNEY'S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL Beginning 6/27

The Ogunquit Playhouse is pleased to present an encore production, based on the smash hit Disney Channel original movie, High School Musical. Special matinees have been scheduled for three weekends only: June 27-28, July 25-26 and August 29-30.

This favorite among the younger set is back by popular demand. Each performance sold out last season with standing room only - don't' miss your chance to see the smash hit musical that has taken the country by storm! Guaranteed to deliver excitement and fun, this Broadway-style musical is your chance to see your favorite movie brought to life, with everything you love about the first movie plus a few surprises! The stage production follows the much-loved story of the movie, featuring all your favorite characters and songs, together with two brand new numbers performed by talented group of actors, cast exclusively for the Ogunquit Playhouse.

Watch the excitement as rivals Troy Bolton, captain of the basketball team, and Gabriella Montez, a beautiful but shy transfer student who excels in math and science, try out for the lead parts in their high school musical and, as a result, divide the school. Despite other students' attempts to thwart their dreams, Troy and Gabriella resist peer pressure and rivalry, inspiring others along the way not to "Stick with the Status Quo."

Disney's High School Musical will run on the main stage Saturdays and Sundays, June 27-28, July 25-26, and August 29-30. Performances are 10AM and 3PM on Saturdays and 10AM on Sundays. The Ogunquit Playhouse Children's Theatre lineup for 2009 includes Disney's Cinderella, Jr. (July 4-5), Fairy Houses the Musical, an original Playhouse production (July 18-19), Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Jr. (August 1-2), and Disney's Aladdin, Jr. (August 22- 23).
