The original off-Broadway cast album of the critically acclaimed holiday musical, That Time of the Year is now available on iTunes. The 2-CD album will be released November 10, 2009 from JAY records.
This unique revue includes a wide variety of original songs that explore the joys and anxieties that inevitably accompany the holiday season. The warmth, humor and eclectic musical style make That Time of the Year appeal to audiences of all ages. When That Time of the Year opened at the York Theatre in December 2006, Neil Genzlinger of The New York Times called it "downright awe-inspiring," "hysterical" and "full of good cheer;" Michael Dale, of Broadway World said the show is "terrifically funny, smart, tuneful and completely winning holiday fare.... That Time of the Year features lyrics by the 2006 Kleban Award-winning team of Laurence Holzman & Felicia Needleman and music by Sanford Marc Cohen, Nicholas Levin, Donald Oliver, Kyle Rosen, Brad Ross, Mark Wherry and Wendy Wilf. The recording features the vocal talents of Bridget Beirne, Kerri Jill Garbis, Erin Maguire, Jonathan Rayson and Nick Verina.
