OBERON Announces Their Events For April 2011

OBERON, the American Repertory Theater's destination for theater and nightlife on the fringe of Harvard Square, has been bringing exciting and original programming to the space during the 2011-12 Season. The home of the A.R.T.'s hit productions of The Donkey Show, Cabaret and its current production of Prometheus Bound, OBERON also presents the work of local and visiting talent, and during the month of April, the offerings are as follows:

Tuesday, April 5th at 8:00pm.
THE BIG QUIZ THING
Presented by The Big Quiz Thing and OBERON
For one-night only, the ultimate live trivia game returns to Boston, with a massive
$200 grand prize. Free Admission!

Thursday, April 7th at 8:00pm.
MORTIFIED
Mortified is a comic excavation of the strange and extraordinary things we created as kids where adults share their own adolescent journals, letters, poems, lyrics, home movies, stories and more. Tickets $15

Friday, April 8th at 9:00pm.
WILD WILD WEST LGBT HOE-DOWN
A Western-themed evening to benefit a new scholarship for local LGBT high school students! Tickets $10-20

Sunday, April 10th at 8:00pm.
BENT WIT CABARET: OBSESSION
Presented by Axe to Ice Productions
Bent Wit Cabaret, the much-beloved variety show spectacular, roars back into OBERON with, Obsession; featuring a sampling of Boston's most exciting artists in a night of Obsessive theater, from cat-ladies to meltdowns to boob fixation. Tickets $10-30

PECHAKUCHA BOSTON 22
An event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public using a unique presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds.

Tuesday, April 12th at 6:00pm.
PAINT THE TOWN (LA) RED: A CELEBRATION OF SURVIVAL
Presented by The Network/La Red
Join us for dinner, a silent auction, dancing, and a variety of performances that reflect the diversity, vitality, and talents of our communities all to raise funds for crisis support for survivors of domestic violence in the LGBTQ/SM/poly-amorous communities as well as community organizing, education and outreach about partner abuse. Tickets $35-60

CARNEVALE IN VENICE
Presented by Controversy Films
A special preview screening party and fundraiser for the new film Nothing Is Truer than Truth; featuring a live performance by The Upper Crust, Boston's most controversial rock band. Tickets $25-50

Thursday, April 14th at 8:00pm.
TRANIWRECK: TRANIWROCK
Presented by Truth Serum Productions
TraniWreck is the legendary, award winning, cabaret variety show featuring gender bending irreverence; Drag, Burlesque, Aerials, Performance Art and a special rare live performance from the original line-up of legendary indie-rock band Come. Tickets $15-35

MADAME TULLULES GRAND FIASCO
For One Night Only, come one come all! Enter Madame Tullule's Grand Fiasco, a freak-show exploration of dreams and desires. Tickets $12-18
