VENUS IN FUR stars Nina Arianda and Hugh Dancy will appear on tomorrow's edition of "The Leonard Lopate Show." The interview with Lopate will air live tomorrow, December 1 at 12:40 PM on WNYC (93.9-FM, 820-AM).

Manhattan Theatre Club's hit Broadway premiere of VENUS IN FUR by David Ives, directed by Walter Bobbie is playing through Sunday, December 18 only at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

VENUS IN FUR began previews on Thursday, October 13 and opened Tuesday, November 8 to universal rave reviews from critics. Charles Isherwood of the New York Times said "David Ives' Venus in Fur is as funny as any play currently on Broadway," while Mark Kennedy of theAssociated Press said, "Walter Bobbie's direction is taut and dangerous." Critics were enraptured by the production's young stars saying, "Nina Arianda is giving the first must see performance of the Broadway season," (New York Times), "Hugh Dancy is smashing" (Vogue), and together the two are "flawless" (New York Magazine).

Vanda (Arianda) is a preternaturally talented young actress determined to land the lead in Thomas' (Dancy) new play based on the classic erotic novel, Venus in Fur. Her emotionally charged audition for the gifted but demanding playwright/director becomes an electrifying game of cat and mouse, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, seduction and power, love and sex. This dazzling new play is written by theatrical mastermind David Ives, and directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie.

Hugh Dancy is appearing with the permission of Actors' Equity Association. The Producers gratefully acknowledge Actors' Equity Association for its assistance of this production.

VENUS IN FUR is produced on Broadway by Manhattan Theatre Club (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer) by special arrangement with Jon B. PlattScott Landis, and Classic Stage Company.

The creative team for VENUS IN FUR includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Anita Yavich (costume design), Peter Kaczorowski (lighting design), ACME Sound Partners (sound design), and Thomas Schall (fight direction).
